Violin Job – Section Leader, Violin II – United Kingdom

Performance, with Ulster Orchestra. Closing date: 11 Dec 2017The Ulster Orchestra is seeking to appoint a Section Leader to its Second Violin section.
The Ulster Orchestra celebrated its 50th anniversary season in 2016/17, and looks forward to the 2017/18 season under Music Director Rafael Payare, and Principal Guest Conductor Jac van Steen. Many of the orchestra’s concerts are broadcast by BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio Ulster, and take place at the Ulster Hall and Waterfront Hall in Belfast.
In addition to leading the section in the Orchestra’s concerts, broadcasts and recordings, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a range of chamber music playing and Learning and Community Engagement activity.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
• Proven expertise in a wide range of high level performance activity including solo, orchestral, chamber music and community/education work

DESIRABLE CRITERIA
• Experience of playing in a numbered position within the violin section of a recognised professional orchestra

Closing date: 20 Nov 2017Tafelmusik, Canada’s award-winning period instrument orchestra, was founded in 1979 and has long been renowned in North America and internationally for its distinct, exhilarating and soulful performances. Now entering an exciting new phase in its development, with the arrival of new Music Director Elisa Citterio from the 2017-2018 season, Tafelmusik performs up to 80 concerts each year in Toronto including a major subscription season, chamber series, community outreach, audience development and education concerts.
