Teaching Post, with University of Melbourne. Closing date: 4 Feb 2018The Melbourne Conservatorium of Music seeks to appoint an innovative and committed Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Music (Wind Symphony, Conducting) who will build on the distinguished tradition of ensemble performance and provide high level artistic direction for the Conservatorium’s wind symphony and woodwind/brass/percussion ensemble program.

You will be a passionate musician with an emerging or established national and international profile. You will have a doctoral qualification in music performance or relevant area with experience conducting advanced level wind symphonies and large ensembles. Experience teaching at the university level and an extensive knowledge of the wind band repertoire and its history is also required.

This is a full time, continuing position commencing from the second half of 2018 or as negotiated.

Conductor Job – Music Staff Auditions for Jette Parker Young Artists Programme. – United Kingdom

Performance, with Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Closing date: 19 Jan 2018The Jette Parker Young Artists Programme are now accepting Opera and Ballet music staff applications through YAP Tracker. Complete applications must be submitted by Friday 19 January 2018.

Auditions will next be held on 28-29 March and 4-6 April 2018 for ballet and opera music staff respectively to start in autumn 2018.

Applicants should be extremely gifted individuals at the start of their professional careers, with a music degree and some experience in performance.

This is an exciting role for an exceptional conductor with significant experience working with young people in a group of mixed abilities. You will be an inspiring and engaging leader with an excellent knowledge of orchestral repertoire, keen to work with colleagues to develop a creative and broad programme of activities for the ensemble.

The LSSO is one of Lancashire Music Service’s County Ensembles, offering the opportunity for committed young musicians to take their music making to an advanced level working alongside professional directors and tutors.

The LSSO is currently made up of 50 children and young people aged 9 – 18, ranging from approximately ABRSM grade 3 to 5 standard or equivalent. The orchestra works closely with the Lancashire Youth Symphony Orchestra (LYSO) with many members moving on to join the LYSO.

LSSO rehearsals are fortnightly on Sundays in Preston with additional dates for concerts, trips and events.

Conductor Job – Musical Director – United Kingdom

Performance with Woking Choral Society. Closing date: 8 Dec 2017Woking Choral Society, an auditioned choir with about 90 members, is looking for a new Musical Director to take over from Ben Palmer in mid-May 2018. We rehearse on Monday evenings, and perform three or four concerts each season, of which at least two are accompanied by a professional orchestra. We have worked regularly with Covent Garden Sinfonia, and also performed with the London Mozart Players. Most of our concerts are held in and around Woking, or in Guildford Cathedral, but we have recently sung at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Cadogan Hall. Our repertoire is varied and challenging, including such works as A Child of Our Time, Missa solemnis and Berlioz’s Messe solennelle, but also encompasses staples of the choral repertoire such as The Creation, Messiah and works by J.S. Performance with Spokane Symphony. Closing date: 20 Dec 2017The Spokane Symphony seeks applications from highly qualified candidates to become the 9th Music Director in the Symphony’s history.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees through the Board President, the Music Director serves as the principal artistic and musical driving force within the Spokane Symphony. The Music Director shall serve as chief architect, communicator and implementer of those activities within the institution which relate to the function of the orchestra. The successful candidate will have the drive and ability to substantially raise the bar of the orchestra’s performance quality, and will serve as a highly effective face of the organization, along with its executive director.
The 2018-2019 season shall serve as the “search year” when candidates come to Spokane to conduct and engage with Symphony constituents. The 2019-2020 season will be the first season for the new Music Director. The 2020-2021 season will be the 75th anniversary season of the Symphony.
