The Royal College of Music Junior Department (RCMJD) is a specialist term-time only Saturday school offering advanced training to musicians between the ages of 8 and 18. The RCMJD is seeking to engage a highly experienced, inspirational and dynamic brass player to become musical director of one of our flagship ensembles, the RCMJD Brass Dectet. The group performs termly at the RCM and at prestigious external venues including the Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, St. James’s Piccadilly and the Royal Albert Hall.
The Brass Dectet rehearses between 3.00-4.00pm every Saturday at the RCM for approximately 30 weeks per year. Two hours of work are required per week, one hour of rehearsal and one hour of preparation time. Additional pay is provided for conducting the RCMJD Brass Dectet in concert.
The successful applicant will need to make a regular commitment to the RCMJD on Saturdays during term-time.
