Cello Job – Community-Embedded Musician (CEM) – United States

Performance, with Houston Symphony. Closing date: 4 Sept 2018The Community-Embedded Musician’s (CEM) primary role is to be embedded in Houston schools, neighborhoods and healthcare settings as a teaching artist and performer, while performing select concerts with the Houston Symphony.
These positions are open to violin, viola, and cello.
Application deadline is September 4, 2018.

The CEM is a unique hybrid position (Teaching Artist + Orchestral Musician) designed to bridge the gap between the Houston Symphony and the diverse Greater Houston community. The Houston Symphony will hire 2 full-time salaried string players to fill the CEM positions, scheduled to begin November 2018. These positions are eligible for the health benefits and other benefits offered to all full-time staff employees at the Houston Symphony.

Closing date: 5 Aug 2018Le Concert Olympique is a new orchestra aiming to create music of the highest level with a unique, contemporary musical experience based on historical insights, a thorough reading of the score and a quest for beauty. The orchestra consists of 45 selected musicians from the whole of Europe who come together several times a year to perform the carefully selected programmes and projects in which Beethoven and his contemporaries take centre stage.

Le Concert Olympique performs Beethoven’s music based on insight, hoping to provide an authentic, relevant, exhilarating and referential experience to the audience.
